Mango-Alphonso
Alphonso, the name says it all. Also known as the King of mangoes, the fruit invokes the deepest senses. Named after the first Portuguese Viceroy of Goa, Alfonso de Albuquerque, this exquisite and expensive variety of mango is also known by the name of Hapoos. The best stock of Alphonso mangoes is said to come from the districts of Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg in the state of Maharashtra.
